Chapter 6 - Quite Unexpected

Kali was getting desperate, it was only so much fun watching Howard swim round and round in the little glass bowl.  Since it was only noon, and there was still plenty of daylight left, Kali called a taxi service and hitched a ride to The Windenburg Community Park near San Myshuno.

----♥----♥----♥----

She had expected to go for a walk.  She had expected to maybe play a round of horseshoes.  She had expected to enjoy the rest of her day away from the cottage.  What she hadn't expected was for the clouds to open up and be caught in a massive thunderstorm!  Not even five minutes after the taxi driver had let Kali out of the car and pulled away, the rain started!  It was coming down so quickly that within just a few short minutes, Kali was thoroughly soaked.

Deciding right then and there that she would make the best of her situation, she searched around for something to do.  It wasn't the smartest decision, and one that she hoped would not be a regret, but when she spied the small pool, she decided that she would have to jump in, she was wet already, after all!  Peeling off her wet clothes and setting them under one of the stone benches, she climbed the stone platform.  Standing at the top of the platform in nothing but her underthings, Kali shouted "Cannonball!" and jumped in.

The water was surprisingly a lot warmer than Kali had expected, and since there wasn't anybody in sight, she swam around in the pool for quite some time.  When she finally decided it was time to find something else to do, and it might be smart to get dressed again before someone stumbled upon her, she climbed the slightly rusted pool ladder and hoisted herself up and out.  That's when the unthinkable happened.  Kali had just stepped onto the stone patio surrounding the pool when there was a huge boom of thunder and a crackle of lightening.....too close!
*Kaaaaa-ZAP*
Kali felt a massive jolt and it felt like her feet quite literally were pulled off the ground!  She was stunned for a few seconds, but as soon as she recovered her wits, she realized that she had, without a doubt just been struck by lightening!
"THAT WAS TOTALLY AWESOME!" Kali exclaimed loudly.  "It's a shame nobody got to see it." she thought.
Kali had been searching for something fun when she had arrived, and that...THAT had been fun!  Kali was feeling supercharged, feeling the electricity surging through her veins!  With no thoughts about getting out of the rain, seeking medical attention, or even bothering to grab her clothes from under the stone bench, Kali bounced over to the horseshoe pits without a care in the world.

Almost as quickly as it had begun, the thunderstorm retreated.  If it weren't for the lingering mud puddles and the fact that Kali was still soaking wet, she might have thought that she had dreamed up the massive thunderstorm.
