Chapter 4 - Romance Or The Lack Of

Kali sifted through her stack of homework as soon as she got home from the bake sale.  She feared that if she didn't dive into it today, she would forget all about having to get it done, and she really didn't want to end up behind.  Thankfully there weren't any really difficult math problems or massive projects that Kali needed help with, though she began to worry what would happen in the future if there were things she couldn't figure out all on her own.  Thankfully Kali had access to the internet on her phone, but she was definitely already thinking about purchasing a computer...and a radio, she mentally added, it was way too quiet in the cottage by herself!

----♥----♥----♥----

Kali had been added to a Buckingham High group chat earlier on her SimChat account, while she had been busily getting her piles of homework done.  As she was attempting to construct a ham and cheese sandwich snack, Kali read the text that she had heard come through earlier.

She only had a few pages in her history book to read and a couple questions to answer about a book they were reading in Simlish class left, so she quickly finished those up and hopped on the bus that was heading into San Myshuno!

The Fashion District had been completely decked out in celebration of The Romance Festival.  There were brightly colored flower garlands adorned with hanging lanterns, stunning flower mosaic planter boxes that had been brought in, and there were pink flower petals strewn all about, permeating the air with a soft floral scent.  Kali browsed through the various swag stalls selling cherry blossom printed shirts and other trinkets, and she was just perusing a food cart menu, when she spied the Romance Guru.  Weaving her way through the throngs of other festival goers, Kali made her way to the elder woman surrounded by candles.

"Welcome, welcome, welcome, my child!" said The Romance Guru ushering her closer.  "And what is it that you seek to know tonight?"
Cautiously Kali stated, "Please, could you look into my future and tell me what you see?"
After taking both of Kali's hands in her own and looking deep into her eyes for a few moments, she said, "My dear child, at this time your romantic destiny looks bleak filled with hardships and challenges.  I wish that I had better news to relay, but at this point in time, that's all I see.  I will leave you with this small bit of wisdom, however.  Love is the fountain of youth from which we all can drink from." and with that, Kali thanked her for her wise words and strode off to find a place to sit and collect her thoughts.
Bleak?!  Her romantic destiny was bleak?!  There would be many hardships and challenges?  This was definitely not the news she had hoped to hear tonight.
Kali was so disheartened by what The Romance Guru had told her, that she no longer had the desire to be surrounded by all the festival excitement and decided, sadly, to just go back to the cottage.  Today had been fraught with some definite highs and some definite lows, it was almost too much for her little teen heart to handle!
